What is a black peel?

A black peel is a specialized peel for skin resurfacing. It is a patented combination of black acetic acid and sulfur, which can be used to treat cystic acne and well as acne scars.

Why is it used?

A black peel can be used to treat large cystic acne, especially in patients who cannot take oral medicines. It can be used as a full face application or as a spot application.

What is the procedure?

After the skin is cleansed, the blackheads are removed, and the skin is ozonized. Then the black peel is applied liberally over the affected area till a uniform frost develops. The skin is washed off after 8 to 12 hours.

What is the post-procedure care? What to expect after a black peel?

The skin will dry out and exfoliate for the next 24 to 48 hours post-treatment. Acne dries up, and the scars appear lighter. The skin undergoes improvement for up to 2 weeks after treatment.
