Anti-wrinkle injections

It is no myth that if you look younger, you get more attention, be it at work or at play. In fact, studies show that people who pay attention to their looks and grooming are likely to get higher pay at the workplace. And the fast pace of life takes its toll on the skin and stress often leaves lines on the face. These lines which are formed due to recurrent muscle action, like the frown lines in the mid-brow area or the worry lines in the forehead area, become more prominent. The most common treatment using these injections is to treat the crow’s feet around the eyes. The best treatment to erase these lines is by using anti-wrinkle injections.

What are anti-wrinkle injections and how do they work?

Anti-wrinkle injections are a medical treatment to help erase fine lines which develop by repeated muscular actions. For example, the repeated act of frowning causes the frown lines in the mid-brow area, and repeated squinting in the sun causes crows feet around the eyes. These are more common in expressive people and people who are more exposed to stress, smoking, and sunlight.

The muscles of expression of the face are connected to the overlying skin. So any action of the muscle causes wrinkles on the skin. Over a period of repeated action, the skin does not bounce back to the relaxed state, much like a paper creased too often. The anti-wrinkle injections help reduce wrinkles by temporarily stopping the action of the muscle. This allows the skin to look relaxed and rested.

Frequently Asked Questions

We like to assist our clients with a knowledgeable and in-depth collective approach to answer for all your queries and fears with our FAQ mega-base.

After the initial consultation, the dermatologist will identify the areas of concern to the patient. A pre-treatment photograph or video is taken so that the results can be compared. At first, a numbing cream is applied to the treated area. Then the pre-determined units of anti-wrinkle injection are delivered through a microneedle treatment. After the treatment, a cooling mask is applied.

Results are seen as early as 3 days post-treatment, however, it may take up to 2 weeks for full results to be appreciated.

The time to get the anti-wrinkle injection is determined by the presence of the wrinkle, and not by the age. For example, myopics who have short sight may frown to help them see better, and develop frown lines at a younger age. Once the frown lines become deep and are visible even at rest, then anti-wrinkle treatments will be needed.
