Dermaroller treatments help to stimulate release of platelet derived growth factors, which are very important to activate the stem cell in the hair bulge area. This stimulates the hair stem cells to regrow thicker. This mechanism of this improvement has been studied and been seen to be effective both in male and female pattern baldness.

The treatment is a simple and relatively painless technique of stimulating the affected scalp with microneedles. These needles are fixed on to a vibratory device, which minimizes any discomfort during treatment. Post treatment, growth factor serums are applied to the scalp. Treatments are repeated weekly for 4 weeks and then fortnightly for 4 months and maintained monthly thereafter.

Single use, disposable microneedles are helpful to prevent infection and reduce discomfort of treatment.

Mild and transient sensitivity of the scalp is expected post treatment which lasts upto 2 hours. Patient is encouraged to not wash scalp for 24 hours post treatment.
